Celebrating Motherhood: Maternity Photography on Florida’s Emerald Coast
Pregnancy is such a beautiful season of life. It can feel like those nine months last forever, and then suddenly you’re holding your baby in your arms and wondering how it all went by so quickly.
That’s why I love maternity sessions.
A maternity session isn’t just about taking beautiful photographs of your growing belly. It’s about documenting this chapter of your family’s story—the anticipation, the connection, the excitement, and all of the love surrounding the little person you haven’t even met yet.
Beach Maternity Photos in Navarre Beach, Destin & Pensacola Beach
We are incredibly lucky to have some of the most beautiful beaches in Florida right here along the Emerald Coast.
The soft white sand, sea oats, turquoise water, and gorgeous evening skies create the perfect backdrop for maternity portraits. Whether you’re a local mama or visiting the Florida Panhandle for a babymoon or family vacation, a beach maternity session is a beautiful way to remember this season.
I photograph maternity sessions throughout Navarre Beach, Pensacola Beach, Gulf Breeze, Fort Walton Beach, Destin, and surrounding areas of the Emerald Coast.
When Should You Schedule Your Maternity Session?
One of the most common questions I receive is, “When should I take my maternity photos?”
For many moms, somewhere around 28–34 weeks works beautifully. Your belly is usually nice and round, but you’re hopefully still comfortable enough to walk, move around, and enjoy your session.
Every pregnancy is different, though. If you’re expecting multiples, have a history of delivering early, or simply want your photos sooner, we can absolutely plan accordingly.
And don’t wait until the last minute to reach out! Sunset sessions—especially during our busier beach season—can book in advance.
What Should I Wear?
Choose something that makes you feel beautiful and comfortable.
Long, flowing dresses photograph beautifully at the beach because they create movement when the breeze catches them. Soft neutrals are always gorgeous, but I also love color. Rich or romantic tones can look incredible against our white sand and blue-green Gulf water.
Most importantly, I want you to still look and feel like you.
If your partner or children are joining the session, you don’t have to dress everyone in identical colors. Coordinating colors, textures, and tones usually photograph much more naturally than perfectly matching outfits.
Yes, Your Family Can Be Part of Your Maternity Session
Your maternity session can absolutely be about more than just Mom.
Partners, older siblings, and even your four-legged babies can be part of the experience. This new baby is joining a family that already has its own relationships, personalities, and story, and I love documenting those connections.
We’ll get the beautiful portraits where everyone is looking at the camera, but those aren’t the only photographs I’m looking for.
After the more traditional photos, I love telling families to turn toward one another. Give each other a hug. Kiss. Snuggle. Love on those babies.
That’s when everyone starts relaxing.
Those little in-between moments often become some of my favorite images from the entire session.
You Don’t Have to Know How to Pose
Please don’t worry about knowing what to do in front of the camera.
That’s my job.
I’ll guide you throughout your session so you’re not standing there wondering what to do with your hands or where to look. We’ll create a mixture of traditional portraits, beautiful maternity images, candid moments, and photographs that capture the connection between you and the people you love.
My photography style is timeless, natural and true-to-life with beautiful pops of color. I want your photographs to still feel like you years from now.
These Photos Are for Your Baby, Too
One day, that little baby growing inside of you will be big enough to look through these photographs.
They’ll see how beautiful their mama was while carrying them.
